Skills training

Talent Management and Development is the part of our HR team responsible for providing training to all associates in the business of insurance. But the team also coordinates specific skills improvement courses appropriate for your current position in the company, or where you want to be, whether you have a high school diploma or an MBA. Classroom and online learning supports both company and third-party certification programs for actuary, claims, customer service, human resources, IT, project management, and other specialties.

International assignments

Our parent company, Munich Re, conducts business on six continents. To build up talent from within, the company internship and Risk Analyst Rotation programs which can become an entry point to an international career in insurance. Learn more

Women’s Network

The Women’s Network strives to increase the number of women in positions of leadership and improve the visibility of American Modern women by:

  • Providing networking and career development through educational, cultural and social activities
  • Helping members develop or enhance needed skills to be competitive in the marketplace
  • Connecting members to resources related to women’s issues in the workplace
  • Promoting a spirit of camaraderie
  • Supporting corporate strategies

Toastmasters International

Not comfortable with public speaking? Join the club . . . literally. American Modern sponsors an in-house Toastmasters International Club. Its goal is to help people learn to speak and present more effectively, both of which are essential skills for career advancement
