What you can expect from American Modern

What to Expect

Your claim is immediately assigned to an adjuster, and you will be given his or her name and phone number during your initial phone conversation with us. We have inside adjusters who work in our Cincinnati office, as well as external adjusters who live throughout the United States.

The adjuster assigned to your claim will contact you to gather more details about what happened.

If an inspection is necessary, your adjuster will work with you to schedule a time and day for that inspection. The inspection is usually handled by an American Modern adjuster, but there are times where we may hire a reliable firm to perform the inspection. In these situations, your adjuster still maintains control of your claim; they will receive the inspection results so that you continue to have one point of contact regarding your claim.

Your adjuster will review all the information related to your loss, which may include: the results of the inspection, information you have provided, the terms of your policy, and any other necessary documentation.

Your adjuster will then discuss the resolution of your claim with you. If the damage is covered by your policy, you will receive a claims payment, minus any applicable deductible. Field adjusters commonly issue checks on the spot.

You can proceed with contacting a contractor or repair shop to fix what's gone wrong. If at any time the dollar amount you have received isn't enough to cover the repair estimates, please contact your adjuster.
