Before you renew, make sure your protection meets your current needs

Home insurance
A few questions can help you determine if your home insurance coverage needs have changed.
Has the occupancy of your home changed? Maybe it's now vacant or rented to others.
Have you completed any renovations such as adding on a room or updating your kitchen or bath?
Have you purchased or inherited items of extra value?

A change in occupancy can affect your coverage needs. You may even need a different kind of policy that offers more appropriate protection.
Renovations, even small ones, can increase the value of your home. You may need additional coverage as a result.
While your American Modern policy covers personal possessions, there may be limits on the amount of coverage provided for certain types of items. Your agent can help you "schedule" your coverage to fully protect your special belongings.
