The Details
The Structure: steel frame, and tie-down straps and anchors, subfloor structure, doors, windows, sliders, load-bearing and non-load bearing frame members, interior walls, exterior siding, roof structure and ceiling.
Plumbing System: hot and cold water lines, waste pipes, soil pipes and vents, faucets, toilets including internal assembly parts, sinks, bath tubs, shower stalls, water heater including fuel lines, vent pipe/chimney, connections and joints.
Electrical System: service panel, fuses and circuit breakers, wiring, ceiling and wall receptacles, light fixtures, boxes, switches and outlets.
Central Heating System: furnace, fireplace and wood burning stove, blowers, duct work, fuel lines, vent pipe/chimney, connections and joints.
Central Air Cooling System: air conditioning unit's compressor, condenser and A-frame, and evaporative coolers.
Major Built-in Appliances: if purchased with the home, washer and dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, oven, microwave over, range, refrigerator and trash compactor.
The Term
Our warranty becomes active at the expiration of the manufacturer's one year warranty. You can extend the warranty beyond the initial one year warranty by two, four or six years.
You may see these options described as "plus 2, plus 4, or plus 6", meaning that the warranty on the covered items in your new home is for the initial one year from the manufacturer, plus two, four or six additional years from the American Modern program.
The policy is attached to the home and can be transferred to a new owner if the home is sold.
