March 23, 2005 GREAT NEWS! Faster Quoting on modernLINK® for Site Built Dwelling Products, New Applications Too! Coming April 17th The companies of American Modern Insurance Group have made changes to the modernLINK Site Built Rate and Quote screens to make it much easier and faster for you to generate a quote, and now we also require less information from you in order to process a policy. Generating a Quote is Now Much Easier, and Just as Accurate as Before Just want a quote? We now ask fewer questions on modernLINK, making the process easier for you. Within modernLINK, many fields or questions that are not required for a quote have been moved to the Underwriting Web page, while other questions have been completely removed. Also, several underwriting questions have been re-worded or combined with other questions. And we no longer have any reflexive questions which cause the screen to flash. You can still save and open the quote later, when you want to bind or submit the risk. Please note, any quotes saved on modernLINK that were not issued prior to 4/17/05 may require additional questions to be answered after 4/17/05. Want Even More Ease? What If We Told You We No Longer Have a Supplemental Heat Source Questionnaire We now simply ask if you have a Supplemental Heat Source and verify that it is not a kerosene or portable space heater and move on. The surcharge will still apply. One New Question Allows You to Tap Into the Multiple Rental Market By asking the number of dwellings owned by the insured, we will now allow a risk where the insured owns more than 5 dwellings to be submitted for review, if the allowable number of claims has been exceeded. Previously, the same claims guideline applied to all dwellings, regardless of how many dwellings were owned by the insured. Changes to Binder Provisions Help Protect Your Loss Ratio Binders on our Sitebuilt products now expire in 10 days. This protects your business, and is in line with the binder provisions of other carriers. New applications have been created to flow with the changes being made in modernLINK as well as the new binder language. To obtain an application, please visit the eForms section of modernLINK. (To obtain the form number for a state specific app, please refer to the marketing bulletin we sent to you.) Please start using these new applications and discard your old applications. The modernLINK Interactive Training Module for Site Built Dwelling is currently being updated with these great changes. We will notify you when the new module is available.
