Program highlights
  • Our program is particularly attractive for a Harley-Davidson, Yamaha or Honda.
  • Replacement cost [?]
    Replacement cost
In the event of a total loss, the insurance company will establish a value for the damage. This is based on the kind of coverage you selected when you opened the policy. Replacement cost coverage is the most extensive coverage you can purchase. Its major advantage is that it avoids depreciation adjustments that apply to an actual cash value settlement, which can leave you without enough money to rebuild or replace your vehicle or property. Keep in mind that even though you may have replacement cost coverage, the policy will pay up to the maximum value listed on the policy.
coverage for bikes two model years and newer does not expire.
  • Street-driven units include $3,000 in accessory coverage. Off-road units include $1,000.
  • Other options [?]
    Endorsement or options
An endorsement is any modification to the standard policy language or coverage. For example, the breakdown endorsement in our manufactured home program provides expanded coverage to include the mechanical or electrical failure of items such as appliances or the furnace.
include travel loss reimbursement, rental reimbursement, and transport trailer.
  • Multiple discounts – home ownership, safety course completion, insuring multiple units, transferring your policy to us, and loss-free renewal.

Choose from three coverage levels

Full coverage

You and your cycle are covered for liability, collision, and comprehensive losses. With full coverage you can add options to your policy.

Liability plus comprehensive

Comprehensive coverage adds protection for theft or damage to your bike resulting from causes such as a fire or weather, but not collision.

Liability only

Your bike is insured just for liability requirements of your state. Physical damage coverage is not part of your policy.

Choose from two loss settlement options

Replacement cost

This is an option for a street driven unit that is two model years or newer. Both comprehensive and collision coverage must be purchased. A moped, scooter or ATV is not eligible.

Actual cash value

In the event of a total loss [?]
Loss
When the damage to a vehicle or property is at a level where
the cost of repairs exceeds its value, the insurance company will define it as a total loss.
, we will pay the actual cash value, which includes a deduction for depreciation. For a partial loss, we pay the cost to repair, minus depreciation for damaged parts and the deductible.

Every policy includes

Accessories

With full coverage, we automatically cover permanently attached accessories, both manufacturer and non-manufacturer, up to $3,000. You can buy additional coverage up to $15,000.

Safety apparel

Our full coverage policies provide $1,000 coverage on approved clothing and helmets if damaged in an accident ($400 limit per helmet). There is no deductible for the helmet.

Option 2 -- pay after we send you a bill

You either can pay in full at the time you start or renew the policy, or in many states we offer installments on a 2-Pay schedule – half up-front and the balance due in 60 days – or on a 4-Pay schedule – a quarter up-front with an installment due every 60 days. A service fee applies to each installment. Pay by personal check, credit card, or bank account transfer.

Some states place limits on the payment plan schedules we can offer or the service fee. To confirm, check with your agent or call Customer Care at 800-543-2644.

Understanding your policy

Do you know what to do if you have an accident?

When riding a motorcycle, safety comes first. Always wear a helmet, watch your speed and be aware of your surroundings.

But as the saying goes, accidents happen. If one happens to you, there are several steps you can take to make sure you stay safe and are reimbursed fairly for the damages:

  • Don't try to ride your motorcycle any further. There may be leaking fluids or other damage you can't see, or you may have injuries that affect your ability to ride.
  • When in doubt, get your bike towed from the scene to home or repair shop. If you have collision coverage, it's covered.
  • Try a small, specialty repair shop other than your dealer. They often are the most skilled at accident repairs. And don't wait until you have an accident. Find a good one now and get to know them.
  • Take photos of the damage. If possible, take them immediately at the scene. It can help to have a photographic record to support your claim.
  • Don't approve repairs until your insurance company inspects them. They have the right to inspect the damage and approve the estimate.
  • Report the accident to your insurance company as soon as possible, no matter how minor the damage seems. There may be damage you can't see, and it can lead to bigger problems – and bigger bills – later.

Help with the to do's

"Where the rubber meets the road" is more than an expression

Enjoyable and safe motorcycling is a partnership between your skill as a driver, and how well your tires grip the road.

Cold tires have less grip. Ride slowly for a few miles to let them warm before accelerating and cornering normally. This is especially important in the spring when morning temps are much cooler than the afternoon.

Watch the road. An older road with a worn finish, or one covered by leaves, water or dirt, gives less traction regardless of the tires' condition.

Check the pressure. Over-inflated tires have less road contact and traction, and also amplify the affects of poor road conditions. Under-inflated tires makes your control of the bike sluggish. Get a true pressure reading when the tires are cold, and follow the manufacturer's specs.

Stay under the load limit. . The recommended tire pressure may be different if you are carrying a passenger or cargo, and remember to factor in the weight of added accessories, such as a windscreen.

Inspect the tires. Regularly check the wear bars and tread depth, plus look for cuts, cracks and embedded stones or nails.

New tires are slick. Take extra care until they are scuffed up, which maximizes your traction.
